Greg Lason is an Illinois Licensed Professional Engineer that has been working within the condominium and townhome industry since 2002. Mr. Lason had been an active member of the Community Associations Institute Illinois chapter since 2005. His involvement in CAI has included speaking at the annual tradeshow, authoring articles that have been published in the chapters’ magazine, and co-chairing the Golf Outing Committee. Mr. Lason worked as an Engineering Associate and Project Manager at HBIS Engineering and LandAmerica Assessment Corporation from 2002-2007. While at HBIS and LAC, Mr. Lason was responsible for the companies reserve study program and developed their construction specification program.
During the fall of 2007, he left LAC to join a former principal of HBIS/LAC to start a new Engineering firm. Mr. Lason was integral in growing the new company to become one of the leading engineering companies within the condominium and townhome industry. As Vice President of Commercial Services, Mr. Lason specialized in preparing construction specifications, moisture evaluation, roofing evaluation, façade evaluations, balcony retrofits, EIFS/Dryvit evaluations, and construction management projects.
Mr. Lason resigned in the spring of 2014 to pursue his passion for construction and took a Project Manager position at National Windows Siding and Roofing. During his time at National, Mr. Lason developed many relationships with product suppliers and manufacturer representatives as well as gained a much better appreciation for what it takes to complete large capital improvement projects. In January of 2015, Mr. Lason was approached to become President of Engineering Support Services. As President of ESS, Mr. Lason is responsible for day to day operations and all services performed by ESS. Mr. Lason brings his vast experience in roof and façade evaluations, construction specifications, construction management, EIFS/Dryvit evaluations, moisture evaluations, and client relations to help guide ESS into becoming your go to Building Experts.
Keith Moore is the principal owner of Engineering Support Services as well as the President of US Exterior Maintenance & Repair, L.L.C. Mr. Moore has over 25 years of experience in the construction and EIFS industry. His experience includes four years as an EIFS Distributor in St. Louis and six years with Sto Corp., which is a $600 million dollar EIFS manufacturer. While at Sto, Mr. Moore served as an Area Manager, where he managed 19 states. Mr. Moore left Sto Corp. in 2000 to start US Exterior Maintenance & Repair, L.L.C. Mr. Moore partners with many national manufacturers as a national contractor servicing their national accounts after the installation is complete.
He has taught several educational courses for ASHE, Northern Illinois Chapter of Building Code Officials, American Institute of Architects, Restaurant Facility Managers Association on water intrusion and its effects on buildings. At Sto Corporation, field training of applicators, architectural training on proper detailing and specifications were also part of his responsibilities. He is often retained as a Construction Litigation Expert in construction related defect cases. He has been retained on several State and Federal cases.
Mr. Moore started Engineering Support Services in 2011 to assist engineering firms and private owners in the forensic investigation of problematic wall claddings. Since 2011 the need for expansion grew evident as clients requested additional services. Mr. Moore expanded ESS in 2015 to provide those additional services and become a full service engineering company.
Engineering Support Services (ESS) was founded in 2011 to provide support services to townhome and condominium associations, restaurants, hotels, and engineering firms. ESS saw a great need for better client services within the condominium and townhome association markets within the mid-western states. To fill this need, ESS expanded its service offering in 2015 and became a Licensed Professional Engineering Firm with the goal of providing exceptional service to new and existing clients within the condominium and townhome association markets. ESS also continues to provide exceptional service to new and existing restaurant and hotel clients nationwide. The mission of ESS is to meet the needs of our clients by accurately accessing their building problems and providing long term innovative solutions. ESS aims to provide technically accurate reports in a timely manner that are presented in a user friendly format to ensure our clients can understand the complex building issues and solutions to their building problems. The staff at ESS have more than 38 years of combined experience specializing in moisture intrusion and building façade renovation projects. ESS staff regularly attend educational seminars to stay on top ever changing building codes and product development to ensure we are operating with the latest information.
